The final report from the ippr Commission on National Security in the 21st Century co-chaired by Lord Paddy Ashdown and Lord George Robertson is entitled "Shared Responsibilities: A national security strategy for the UK" (ISBN: 9781860303258).
One recommendation is that there should be a "transformation in our approach to defence policy, and take measures to strengthen both NATO and the European pillar of the transatlantic alliance."
